The death occurred recently of Mr. George Blond at the age of 72 years.He was the oldest son of Captain George Blond, timber merchant, Brisbane and was born at Spring Hill, which was at the time, little more than a bush-covered area.Deceased, who was employed by the Queensland Government Railways until about five years ago when he retired, was a man of kindly disposition and a popular officer. He married Miss Minnie Marks of Brisbane.
