  1. My maternal grandfather travelled to New Zealand on this small vessel, and back to Brisbane in the very early 1920s and then got married and settled in Brisbane, working as a compositor.'His name was Robert Alexander Laidlaw. I don't know if he was crew or simply a fare-paying passenger.

Thanks for your August 25 comment. For such a small vessel, it had quite a history. I would not fancy travelling to NZ on it!

    Kind regards

  3. Hello again Bob

In regard to your 26 August comment re the Agnes. Do you have any objection if I include your comment in the body of the Agnes blog detail as well as leave it in the comments area?

Did your grandfather travel to NZ and then return from NZ on the Agnes? I doubt that there would have been many fare-paying passengers on it - does not look big enough to swing a cat on it.

Great to get a comment from you.

    Cheers
